Harbour Hotels are a collection of luxurious hotels situated across the South of England. The group have a stellar reputation for providing top-quality accommodation, along with award-winning restaurants. The hotels span from Christchurch and Southampton to Brighton and Bristol.

They perfectly encapsulate their locations, which range from the calming coast to the hustle and bustle of a city. In each of the group’s hotels, they make it a priority to maintain their prestigious brand.

As well as providing top-class rooms, the hotels host weddings and seasonal celebrations. For companies looking to host conferences and hold meetings, Harbour Hotels regularly accommodates.

With the plan to expand in mind, Harbour Hotels approached edirect to work on a range of services, including SEO and Pay Per Click. Our job was to aid in the hotel group’s promotion in order to help them acquire more hotels in their already thriving portfolio. In addition, we were tasked with creating a bespoke booking system that was easy to use for guests accessing their website.

Harbour Hotels’ vision was for their online ranking to be increased in the market and to promote the variety of services that they offer – from accommodation to weddings and dining. Having previously built a site for the client, we already had a strong relationship before embarking on this new project together.

Increasing online rankings

the challenge

When it comes to promoting and boosting a company’s ranking, plenty of work is involved. Harbour Hotels are a prestigious brand, but they are also in a market that is very competitive. In order to challenge their rivals, we needed to put together an SEO and PPC strategy that delivered results.

Due to the vast number of hotels under their umbrella, we had to come up with numerous campaigns for each one in order to boost their PPC conversion rates. We knew that we had to target a number of terms, including hotels, restaurants, bars and weddings.

In order to achieve results, we had to come up with a meticulous plan. Our PPC strategy included creating 30 to 50 campaigns for each hotel in Harbour Hotels’ portfolio. In every campaign advert, we added features, including conversion tracking that was implemented in forms and calls. Our dedicated team managed to double our client’s PPC conversation rates following a three-month period.

With regards to our SEO work for Harbour Hotels, we carried out lengthy research into keywords and also analysed the ranking and search volumes. In addition, we looked into the traffic volumes at the time and also provided a detailed breakdown of the various ranking opportunities. As mentioned, our client wanted to expand their portfolio of hotels, and we helped them do so by offering SEO support for launches.
